Conch Republic Part II: Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season

I guess Buffet knew what he was talking about when he sang about hurricane season in the tropics.  The rain was still pouring on Day 2.  Boo!  Fortunately, we weren't as concerned with having a "perfect" vacation as we were with just having a little rest.  And we have gotten some rest.  We started the day with an incredible crepe breakfast at this tiny French Cafe.  We sat at the bar where we had front row seats to the chef teaching one of the waitresses how to make sugar crepes.  I guess since we were close by (and Justin must have looked hungry), Justin kept getting the results of their cooking lessons.  Good timing, wouldn't you say?  So Justin basically started the day with an equivalent of three breakfasts.  After breakfast, we biked back to the hotel and decided we would go ahead and take our chances on the beach.  I guess the forbidding black clouds overhead were not warning enough.

Hiding under a beach hut while the first rain storm poured down around us.  Tropical rain storms come and go quickly, but it still didn't make for great sunbathing weather.

That evening we ended up biking over to the pier for dinner and passing the Hemingway house.

Finally, our nightly key lime pie run at the famous Blue Heaven, known for the Key Lime Pie and incredible breakfast.
The meringue on top was at least 6 inches tall and did not disappoint!

The rain did not keep us down today, but we are ready for the sun to shine!
