I am still getting around to updating pictures on the new house. Well, not exactly new. We moved right before Halloween when Asher was about 4 weeks old. The whole experience happened very quickly, so I will give a short recap. When we moved to Ft. Worth two years ago, we bought and renovated an older early 1950s house in a cute little neighborhood in the heart of the cultural district. One of those neighborhoods where you know all your neighbors and at 5pm everyone walks out their front door to sit on their front porch or walk their dog. We loved it. However, this was our third house to buy and fix-up since we have been married and we knew we would sell the house eventually. But, we also thought that we would stay a little longer than two years. Needless to say, that did not happen.
We decided to test out the market and list our house and 7 days later we had a full price offer! That left us with about 30 days to buy a new house. That would not be big deal on its own, but when your thirty days also includes having a baby, it becomes a little overwhelming. We really wanted to move closer to our church and many of our friends, and after seeing what seemed like every house in the neighborhood and having many offers not work out, we finally found the house we had been searching for. It had the office Justin needed, the eat kitchen open to a living area that I wanted, and plenty of living space for our growing family. Most importantly, the house required no updates! We both agreed, that although we enjoyed home renovation, having two children under two years old was no time to deal with saw dust and incomplete projects. I was laying in the hospital in labor as we negotiated the final details on the house. We love it here!
