Renovation Complete! Almost

There are many perks to being married to a very talented, hard working (and handsome) contractor. The obvious perk is that he has redone several great homes for us. He can pretty much build, create, carve about anything I picture in my head or pull out of a magazine.

On the other hand, we almost always live in a "project". This may sound fun to those who don't do projects frequently, as they always sound fun to us in the beginning. However, several weeks or months later, after a lot of dust, and a little boy running around who is constantly into everything, you can feel ready for the work to be complete.

It was built in the 40s and therefore had many beautiful original features like hardwood floors and moldings. However, it was severely outdated. We moved into the house when I was about 27 weeks pregnant with David. Justin moved down 2 weeks early to begin the construction. He worked fast and furiously for two months with our ever looming deadline upon him. We basically moved from room to room, sleeping on mattresses on the floor until each room was complete. I was just releaved to have one bathroom and our master bedroom complete before David arrived. In the last year, we have taken our time finishing up the details including our master bath. We still have more plans for the house. I guess when our plans are done, we will just have to move again!

Before...As you can tell the washer and dryer were in our kitchen originally. Justin cleared out a closet in the hallway, which made a perfect fit for a side by side washer and dryer and also gave us extra storage in the kitchen.

Before - This is kind of hard to explain without seeing it in person. The house was originally 3 bed, 1 bath, 2 living. We changed the smallest bedroom into our master bath and changed the back living room (pictured below) into our master bedroom. We also added a wall between the former office and living room space to creat a more private office area.
